Elementary Teaching Assistant - Rochester Academy Charter Schools
Rochester Academy Charter School (RACS) is seeking dedicated and passionate Elementary Teaching Assistants for anticipated openings for the 2023-2024 academic year and beyond. Join our team of committed educators and make a profound impact on the lives of our students.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with teachers to support the implementation of lesson plans and instructional activities.
- Assist in the preparation of instructional materials and resources.
- Provide individual and small group support to students with diverse learning needs.
- Assist with classroom management and behavior management strategies.
- Support students with personal care and other specialized needs, as required.
- Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes student engagement and social-emotional development.
- Monitor student progress and provide feedback to teachers.
- Collaborate with teachers and other team members to implement accommodations and modifications for students with special needs.
- Attend professional development sessions and staff meetings as required.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent (Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Education or a related field is a plus).
- Experience working with students, preferably in an educational setting.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively with children and build positive relationships.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Patience, empathy, and a passion for supporting student growth and development.
- Flexibility and the ability to adapt to changing needs and priorities.
- Knowledge of instructional strategies and interventions is an advantage.
- First Aid and CPR certification is a plus.
